Conceived and developed as a flagship series for Loblaw Companies Ltd.’s content platform Insiders Project, Shelf Life is a three-part docuseries discussing the risk of climate change and its impact on our ability to grow, harvest, and enjoy our most iconic ingredients.

Though originally planned as a travel series, the pandemic brought about the need to switch gears. Our team shot our interview subjects using a remote shooting platform and local videographers when possible and we leaned on illustration and animation to visualize storytelling in a unique and ownable style.

I was responsible for establishing the art direction and creating the design + illustrations for all the animation sequences, beautifully brought to life by Ramón Charles and John Flores. Selections from the storyboards can be seen below and the episodes can be viewed here:
